Don't you people have jobs?

BUT if we did get divorced I don't think she would take any of my collection either, she knows I've worked long and hard to get them, she is a jewelry collector to me being a DVD collector. So somehow I think she wouldnt take my DVDs nor would I take her jewelry in a divorce.

That sounds cool. I guess as long as a split is amicable, then it works out for the better for both parties.

Got divorced a year and a half ago. Still on friendly terms. I took my DVD's with me . Still have dreams to marry again, but not so soon

I hear ya. Well, at least you got the DVDs! Some guys end up losing everything, including those, in nasty divorces. Glad to hear you're on friendly terms with your ex.

I follow your same philosophy. Work stinks, but it's a way to earn a living. The real good stuff is outside of work! I don't like to mix work with pleasure, besides I don't have time at work. I disconnect from work as soon as I get out of there

I am the exact same way. I don't find my job enriching or exciting, but its a living. I use my time outside of work to make my life 'exciting'. Not everyone is lucky enough to do their dream job. Heck, even dream jobs turn into nightmares if things change too quickly or too much. I wonder if people in their dream jobs even have or need hobbies?

Funny, I work in a Federal Office and one of my co-workers is desperately trying to transfer to Guam so he can save money, live near the beach and date Filipinas. Limubai is living an envious life!

I think dream jobs tend to eventually suck.8)

You guys still at work? Working from home or paid absence or anything?

The virus hasnt effected my schedule personally but they did cut hours at the mill by putting everyone on a different schedule.

Ive noticed a lot of people using the site recently, but that may just be due to the marketing and relaunch of the site, also just beggining to be that time of year again where its great to kick back to some fu and other films.

I'm working in car manufacturing (Volvo), and so far it's 2-3 working days a week, with paid absence on days off and a salarial reduction of 5% every month. Can't say I'm too bored being home most of the time right now 😜

I haven’t been affected.  Lots of my friends transitioned to working from home or paid time off and I’m kinda jealous that they can catch up on books and shows (I’d spend a lot of time catching up on classic kung fu films), but at the same time I’m also happy my job was never in danger.  I’ve had plenty to do in my little office space.  Lots of other departments went home, so it’s also very quiet right now.

Months ago before the launch of the new 36 STYLES website, I stated that as soon as the new site launched, I was going turn my focus on updating and working on the forum. It just so happens that I launched the new site a week or so before the Shelter-in-Place order took effect. I've been home for the last month, being able to work fully on the forum for the most part, a lot of backend stuff. With the help of all our active members, we can hopefully grow the forum and take things to a new level. There are a lot of things planned. So for those that can, your support would be greatly appreciated, either by donations, participating in raffles, and by sharing content from here to social media outlets, if you're on any.

:pandalove

BTW @Koravec very cool of you to bring back this thread which was originally created back in 2006 by brother @teako170 :thumbsup

2006? Ugh. Feeling old. Yes, still working (thankfully), and just like in ‘06, surfing at work while keeping one eye out for the boss. Lol.

I've been working from home (and learned I'll be still working from home till at least August) and while I can't catalog books and DVDs,  I have been helping run remote reports and having weekly meetings with my boss. When there are no projects I look fit webinars or begin brainstorming our digital archive collection. Between that, helping the kids with schoolwork, and my blog,  I keep quite busy yet I come on here occasionally 😁

Were required to wear masks at work now, think its a statewide law. And plexi glass dividing the tables in the middle.

All Im doing is spraying high touch areas with bleach water... pretty cake work for the moment.

I've been working from home since March 2020. This allowed me to catch up a lot of things, such as watching some movies/series during down time and playing video games games during lunch breaks. :)

So there is an update. After working from home fulltime since March,  I now will be working from home 4 days a week and work Wednesdays at my office. I'll be the only member in my department area with my coworker working from the 2nd floor of the library. So that will help. I returned last Thursday for the 1st time in over 9 months and it felt surreal but I got so much done on my 1st day back.

For the record, I've worked as a SAP systems analyst for 10 years, with my specialty being ABAP programming. I'm now a "Systems Specialist," doing the same thing while also working with other legacy systems.

It's official...after all this time. The first week of August, I am back to the library full-time. Just in time as the month will mark my 13th year at the library altogether.

Yeah, I do have a job; I'm a public school teacher on summer break.....well, I've gone back into work 3 times, been working on the curriculum map so it's not a total break.

I feel you. I'm also a teacher on a break. Getting called to relieve for colleagues when we're in lockdown. I could use my actual break, but it keeps the momentum up.
