BRUCE LEE THE MAN MYTH FAN-RESTORATION PROJECT

Hey everybody ! Just want you to know, i've started a non-profit project of a digital restoration of the Bruceploitation classic : "Bruce Lee the man the myth aka Bruce Lee : True story ! After searching the best print available on video, i found out the German DVD has the nicest copy on the market (i wish i have acccess to 16/35mm  rolls and the money to work with it  ) Most of the restoration is done : First it was cleaned & upscaled (in 4k) with A.I tools then i did my part with Video editing softs to correct the video enhancement and adjust the details . So finally i have a fair & nice copy (of course it's not perfect but i did my best) : It's in Widescreen 2.35: 1 Ratio, UNCUT VERSION, in Cantonese,Mandarin,English & French  languages with partial English & French subs for the non-dubbed parts and soon complete English/French subs , you'll have extra languages dubbing like German,Spanish and Italian. I plan to release a custom-made Bluray with a bunch of bonus material available (we considering everything ! Pics,music , rare stuff ....) i have already 2 pretty well-known Bruceploitation experts for exclusive audio commentaries & interviews. Any Bruceploitation specialists are more than welcome ( @bruceleeclones ? Carl Jones ? @TheKungFuRobber ? )  i'll shoot a 25mn documentary about the movie so people feel free to join us ! i did some "re-constructed" trailers of the movie and the bluray will have more,  Bruce lee the man the myth- related artwork is welcome too ( Steven Morris ? @KUNG FU BOB ?) keep in mind it's a NON-PROFIT project but i may do some little Crowdfunding to cover the cost of the Blu-rays manufacturing at the end of the process. In the meantime the movie and most of the bonus material will be in Digital and FREE  ! Here are some links to see what it looks like :

Carl Jones here...maybe your restoration could be offered to a small blu ray/dvd label to get a wide release?

^^ This. Love the work that’s been done here, but would love it even more if it’s able to be distributed via a boutique label vs the bootleg option. Have you contacted Michael Worth?

Of course, i'd love a  real release. I'm aware about the "bootleg" status. I didn't contact Michael Worth yet, i'm not sure he's interested in my little amateurish restoration project but l'll try.  I don't know about the copyright issues,  i've been heard the movie is in the public domain....

It's definately PD in the U.S. 

I don't know much about M W's projects except they seem to take forever to complete.

Good to know for the US PD status. For Michael Worth i guess he's more than busy with his documentary.  So i'm going for  small US video labels. Feel free to step in Carl 😁 i'd love an audio commentary or a video from you. Love your Tiger Bruce Li magazine by the way. Spanish writer Ivan Fernandez (he wrote a book about Bruceploitation ) just agreed to record an audio commentary in English 🤩

Contact @JDecloux  I doubt he'll put out any more public domain stuff since he's acquired a film scanner but I bet he'll consider putting it as an extra or bonus feature on one of his future Bruceploitation titles.

I've just fixed up a video segment with a talented young film maker (I appeared in a short documentary of his about Mods a couple of years ago) and he'd be up for doing it.

Yeah i couldnt afford a computer who can run Topaz but recently a friend lend me his workstation for a month, so i took the opportunity ....all i can say it's magic...after that i had to adjust the restoration with Adobe premiere pro .To me it's working very well when you  work on dvd source to an HD final file. Should be great for many kung fu dvd.I gave back the computer already,  if i had more time i wish i could upgrade the following dvds : Master of the flying guillotine (us widescreen dvd)/the chinese stuntman (german dvd)/Ninja strike back (uk dvd)/Goodbye Bruce Lee (all widescreen dvds) and many more
