I'd be surprised if they expect you to ship it back if they make the mistake.

If anyone gets a second copy of KILLER CONSTABLE that doesn't have to be sent back, would you please consider selling it to me at a nice price? I'm currently strapped for cash and wasn't able to order it.

Either one of the 2 thinks happened.

1. They messed up and send the wrong movie - but I don't see them doing on every pre-order.

2. They are being proactive and sending out the pre-orders early. Their site said "should be available approx" 10th April. That (approx) is not an exact date, just a date close to the 10th (but that is still over 2 weeks out). A lot of companies ship out pre-orders before the release date so clients can have it in hand on the release date - I have received many pre-orders 3+ before the release date. An since they are shipping to many international clients, maybe they are trying to do the same too. Time will tell with disc in hand or email(s).

I just received Killer Constable" from them this pass Monday & have yet to open it.

If that is the case then you can have the second copy....since I keep missing your birthday. :blush

Be prepared to be surprised!

Ok, just got an email from them. Here is what it said:

88 Films

Dear (my name deleted),

We have sent you Killer Constable in error for this order.

Can you please return to sender, apologies for the inconvenience caused.

Your Masked avengers order will be processed as normal.

Best
88 Films

Well, that sucks! I don't think that they should ask me to send it back at my expense. I did a little search for pricing to the UK from the US using either Fedex or USPS and the prices were off the hook. I am not spending (at least) $30 USD to send this back. Maybe I need to look into this a little more but pricing can't be that high, can it? But, since I am not a business doing bulk, perhaps it is. Yeah, they would have to either reimburse me the cost or send me a "free" movie or two in order to cover my time and expense if the prices that I looked at are right; not that I have the extra money right now, anyways. I guess that I will have to take this up with them when it arrives! If they really want it back then maybe I can get them to send me a box with free shipping and I will return it right away.

I don't know how it works in other countries, but in France, if you don't open the package, you can tell the postman to return it without paying anything.

In the message I received they said " please, don't accept the delivery or return the package "

Yep, they've sent me Killer Constable too, because I've just received it in the post.
That's the first, and last, time I'll be ordering directly from them!

I have never had this happen to me before and want to do the right thing; so, I have no problem returning it. But, I can't afford to waste my money on sending it back to them. The post office will not send this back to them at their expense; as it was not their error. What would happen is that the post office would either tell me to keep it or it would end up in their "lost and found" to be auctioned off at some point in the future. Unless, I find out otherwise, the best option will be if 88 Films send me a return mailer at their expense. I do not need a 2nd copy and I have no interest in profiting off their mistake. Also, I want to verify that it is not Masked Avengers before I return it; just in case. I wonder how many people are going to get the wrong movie now? Or, will some people actually be getting The Masked Avengers?

Sorry to hear that! This is my 2nd pre-order from them. The first pre-order was for Killer Constable. Everything went 100% smooth. Got the movie and free shipping with a slipcover for less than $20 USD. No problems! Then, boom, with this order, chaos. I was rather surprised and thought something wasn't right when my order shipped the day after I pre-ordered it because their site said stock would not be in until April 10th.

I have yet to receive the "mistake" email, very likely I may get it later today or tomorrow.

I just went to the post office site and check the price of sending a package with that weight back and the cheapest rate is $13.50 USD.

I no longer have the packaging from the last package they sent me so I cannot check. If there isn't a "Return Postage Guaranteed"/"Return to" label/stamp on the package, it is label as "Dead Mail" which in turns becomes the property of the USPS.

At least they should provide an "electronic" return label if there isn't one on the package they "mistakenly" sent out.

I was just going by the prices on the USPS website. Either going through my local post office would be cheaper or it just costs more to send it from my location. But, still, $13.50 is $13.50, so, this will be a lot more expensive purchase than I had planned. I will certainly be contacting them for some kind of compensation or something.

I checked my Killer Constable blu-ray that I received from them last week and there was no "return postage guaranteed"/"return to" label that I saw. It was sent Royal Mail, air mail. And, on the invoice itself, the return address peel-off is missing. When my 2nd copy of Killer Constable arrives, I will check and see if there is any "return postage guaranteed" label.

I hear you, that is the price of a movie right there.

I paid about that for either "Hex", "5 Element Ninja" or "Black Magic" as well as for the pre-order of "Drunken Master"  - all on Amazon.

I will wait and see what their response is.

I'll just pass my spare onto someone else, and put it down to experience. Even I can't be bothered sending it back...And I live in the UK!

If the cost to sending back is about the same as buying then they should at least give that option too (and offer some kind of a coupon/discount for future purchase). If I have it in hand then I would prefer to keep than sending back.

Wow, that whole thing is entirely unreasonable. I suspect if you contact them and raise hell they'll either offer to pay the shipping or just say to keep it. They boned here and are about to lose some cash. They are probably hoping some portion of people aren't willing to deal with the hassle. Either way it sucks, asking you to pay for their mistake is the stupidest thing I've ever heard. They obviously don't want people to order from them in the future

They should have made an announcement on their site for all people who have received the message and clearly tell them what they plan to do regarding the return of the mistakenly sent items.

I'm fairly confident they would have to refund you the cost of any postage in this case. They made the mistake and so they should pay for the return. Why should someone be out of pocket because someone sent them something by mistake?

I ordered both Masked Avengers and Killer Constable, and my shipment notice email says both films are dispatched. Will have to see what I've been sent as I have my post delivered to my parents address and haven't been round there yet.

Does every copy of Mighty Peking Man have a die cut on the spine of the slipcase? Mine has a cut on the right side about the width of my thumb in the center of the spine. Wondering if this is standard.

I am still waiting on my order, should receive it any day now. Others can let you know if their copy have the cut.

I received the "false " Masked avengers  and returned it without opening it and paying anything.

This time, there was an address for the return on the package, as if they had known that people would have to return the discs !

Maybe they are testing their customers...:bs_coveredlaugh:

Hahaha.. I appreciate the thought.

As far as 88 Films' mistake... If the BD's can be "returned to sender" at no cost to the customers that received the mistaken shipment, then it would be nice of everyone to return them. A simple note taped to the package that says "Return To Sender" and putting the package back in your mailbox isn't a big deal. But if 88 Films expects anyone to pay to ship them back- which I doubt they do- that's ridiculous. If a customer orders something from a company, they should receive what they paid for, and not be put out in any manner or expected to spend their money to rectify a mistake the company made. I understand that they are not a big company, and I'm sure this mistake has been a blow to them financially, but they must eat the cost of that mistake. On an occasion when I mistakenly sent the wrong poster to a customer, he offered to send it back. But I refused, and had the correct poster in the mail for him on the same day. That was money out of my pocket for the (not cheap) shipping tubes, postage, and one (expensive) extra poster print, but it was my mistake. I'm not a company- just a regular guy- but that's good business. I must say- Kudos to those customers that are willing to return the mistakenly sent BD's (if they don't have to pay) just for being honorable, moral people.

If anyone receives an official reply/stance from 88 Films on this matter, please share it hear so we'll all know the proper info. Thanks!

One more thing: Regarding the subtitle issue on their releases... There have been some sloppy English subtitles- missing punctuation and capitalization, misspellings, and in at least one case, an entire line of dialogue missing subs. I've discussed this with @Karlos and we agreed that we would contact them directly about these "lazy" subtitles (which we both have). We should each write to 88 Films and encourage them to do better with that. Like "You are most likely releasing the "definitive versions" of these films, so could you please put a little more effort into proof-reading the subs before pressing the discs? As fans, we're going to be re-watching these over and over again for years, so it would be nice it the subs were proper." That kind of positive reinforcement along with the constructive criticism could help. You get the best results with a kind word, so please keep your messages polite. This is not some huge, faceless corporation, it's real human beings that will read your messages. So keep the adage "Treat others the way you'd like to be treated" in mind when typing. Remember- these days, our voices do often make a difference to these small labels. After Eureka Entertainment: Masters of Cinema announced they were releasing DRUNKEN MASTER on Blu-ray, fans found out that the "classic dub" was not going to be included. But after hearing from the fan community how important that dub's inclusion was to everyone, they added it to the release. Success! :nerd:

You can write to 88 Films about the subtitles here: http://info@88films.co.uk or give them a call at: http://07719 835564

They need us, and we need them. So lets work together to get it together.

Goddammit dudes(+Angie) that is awfully bad comedy. I was saved from this mess because ordered another movie too which will be released after masked avengers and they ship them together...

Very badly done by 88, you definitely should get to keep those extra constables instead of seeing effort by their mistake.

I received the shipped email but I never received a "mistake" email. Will have to wait to see what movie is actually in the package when I receive it.

I never received the mistake email either, and received Killer Constable still...I haven't heard a thing from them since.

Just got home & a package was waiting for me.

Inside was........Killer Constable. :bs_bummed:

I emailed them to see what the next step will be.

I ordered "Mighty Peking Man" 5 days prior & it was also shipped 5 days before this order but I received this "mistake" order first. :bs_confused:
